I decided to make some improvements in the rear gutter downspout. The downspout attchment to the 2" pipe 'funnel' needs to be changed. A strong wind blew the downspout off the house. Reattchment was easy enough but a stronger more secure method is needed. A flexible pipe for the upper connection to the gutter is an improvement and will allow the gutter downspout to be attached to the house instead of floating in air.  After a lot of work, the plank are on the back side of the house. The wall needs to be washed. I used Pine-Sol on the lower three rows and discovered some discolorization. Some pine knots are showing through. I can use Zinsser B-I-N (shellac based) to cover them, or their Cover Stain Primer (oil based). Since the wood is already painted, I may need to use the oil based Cover Stain Primer. Shellac is a wood oriented product and intended to be applied directly to bare wood. A series of tests needs to be performed. Pine knots could be sanded off using a drill and rough/coarse sanding discs. Some images of the back wall:
